How to share Twitch clips while respecting their creators
Guide · October 23, 2026
Clips are made to be shared: it's how many streamers get discovered. Sharing them well is easy: use the link, give credit and don't take what isn't yours.
Share the link
The simplest and most respectful way is to share the clip's link. It shows a preview on WhatsApp, Discord, X and most social networks, and whoever opens it watches it with Twitch's player, so the views count for the streamer.
On AllTimeClips, every clip has its own link to share. You can also open it directly on Twitch with the Clip on Twitch button.
Give credit
- Name the streamer and, if you can, link to their channel.
- Don't change the clip's meaning with a misleading title or take it out of context.
- If a guest appears in the clip, name them too.
Before uploading clips to YouTube, TikTok or Instagram
Downloading a clip and uploading it again isn't the same as sharing the link. The content belongs to the streamer, and sometimes it includes music, games or people with their own rights. Before you do it:
- Check whether the streamer allows it. Many allow clip channels or compilations under conditions, such as giving credit. They usually explain this on their profile, on their Discord or on social media.
- Ask if it isn't clear. One message can save you a claim.
- Watch out for music. A clip with copyrighted music can get a claim on the platform where you upload it, even if the streamer agrees.
- Add something of your own: editing, commentary or context. A compilation with your own work adds more than a clip reuploaded as is.
This is general guidance, not legal advice: the exact rules depend on each platform and each country.
If you're the streamer
- You can delete clips from your channel in Twitch's creator dashboard, under Content, Clips. When a clip is deleted on Twitch, it also disappears from AllTimeClips.
- You can limit who makes clips on your channel: followers only, subscribers only or no one.
- If someone uploaded your clips to another platform without permission, the claim is made on that platform.
+18 content
Some channels have adult content flagged by Twitch: sexual themes, gambling, drugs or alcohol, or graphic violence. On AllTimeClips, those clips are blurred with a «+18» label until you confirm your age. If you share one, let people know what it is.
Frequently asked questions
Can I download clips from AllTimeClips?
No. The site shows clips with Twitch's official player and doesn't download them, because they belong to their creators.
Does sharing a clip's link help the streamer?
Yes. Every play with Twitch's player adds views to the clip, and viewers can get to the channel from there.
